Riad Dar Alhambra

Riad Dar Alhambra is nestled in the heart of the old medina with direct access by car, next door to the Medersa Ben Youssef and the Marrakesh museum - three minutes from the souks, and eight minutes walk from the Jemaa El Fnaa square.

This very tall, magnificent Riad dating from the 16th century has been lovingly and discreetly restored in the pure Moroccan tradition with painted cedar-beam ceilings, sculpted stucco, tadelakt, pink marble floors and zelliges from Fez…

Life circulates around the cool, central, marble floored patio with an antique fountain in its centre. Next to the patio are two delightful 'B'hou' (small, open sitting-rooms), and the traditional, sumptuously decorated Moroccan drawing-room - painted cedar ceiling, red tadelakt and a large ornamental fireplace, and dining room.

The Dar Alhambra rooftop terrace offers splendid views of the Koutoubia, the high Atlas Mountains, and superb sunsets - as well as privileged dining and sun bathing!

Dar Alhambra is ideally suited for families or groups wishing to have the Riad just for themselves!

The six very comfortable and delicately decorated double rooms are equipped with separate private bathrooms, air conditioning and central heating. Four have a fireplace. The rooms are of different sizes, and five have a lounge area.

Meals and aperitifs can be served when and where you desire - in your bedroom, in the open sitting rooms, in the Moroccan drawing-room, in the dining room - or on the terrace in the sun or under the stars! Breakfast is included in the room price, other meals should be reserved in advance - just ask.

Facilities & Services

The Riad has a traditional Moroccan Hammam that you can reserve. Massage and beauty treatment are also available on request.

A traditional 'Andalusian' style guitarist and/or Gnaoua musicians can be invited to perform in the Riad

Visits to the Atlantic ocean, to the mountains or to the desert can be arranged at your convenience - each possible within one day!

Restaurant, horse carriage and taxi reservations can be arranged by Hamid while in Marrakesh
